Mr. Paddington has responded re the server issue and the assignment.
"The assignment was that the students would write and post a blog and develop the first page of a web site using Mambo or HTML."
About the server, he has indicated that he will finalise the permissions today. As soon as I have the go-ahead, you will receive emails with the location of each website space.

Attempting to post a blog.
Let's see if I get this right.
To all my fellow colleagues,
Check out my blog for some interesting sites for developing web pages in HTML
http://uwidipinedtech.blogspot.com
See you all soon
I created a blog at http://uwidipinedtech.blogspot.com
I put a photo in my profile as well as photos in my commnents.
I can even be sent emails directly from the site, when comments are posted.
I also attempted to put links in my comments.
I did some other stuff as well.
What else do I need to do for this assignment?
I still have not figured out how to develop a website on a phantom server, but I will check into it.
Suggestions anyone ???
(GRINNNNNNNNNN)
Did you know that should you encourage your students to "blog", it is very possible that the weirdos on the internet could communicate with your students???
Furthermore, did you know that all sorts of predators visit blogs and peddle their wares, regardless of the fact that it is clearly stated what the purpose of the blog is for???
The internet has its advantages and its disadvantages, however it is better to be safe than sorry.
Personally, I am confident that I will NEVER encourage my students to blog.
Should you wish to know why, please feel free to look at the results of my "experiment"
Read some of the thought provoking commnents (yeah right!!!) at
http://uwidipinedtech.blogspot.com
It certainly makes me wonder what was the initial population on the mothership.
Nicole thanks for your perspectives, trying to digest it all.
Will get to Rochelle TODAY! Have a great one
I think there are some possibilities for blogging in the classroom. I would not encourage my younger students to blog, but I'm considering trying it with my Sixth Formers. It would also be a good time to deal with the pros and cons of the Internet with them. Hmmmm...I feel a blog post coming on. Smile.
Thank you hibiscus, I would really appreciate that. I actually logged on today with you in mind.
I hope that you will have a great one also.
Hey web_student(waving vigorously)!!!
I do agree with you wholeheartedly about informing your students in advance, of the potential dangers of a blog.
Publishing personal information on the web should be a NO NO, especially with the increasing incidents of identity theft. No one should fall victim where it can certainly be avoided.
I am most certainly open to comments and suggestions, since it is still a work in progress:

I must admit I had fun doing these assignments.
Can you guess that I am TRINI2DBONE ?
I created a blog at deniweb.blogspot.com while trying to do my assignment.
Hope I did something right!
Nice to know others are out there.
Waiting patiently for the Mambo server. I have assignments to hand in.
